Baylor is wearing size 4 diapers now. His wardrobe is made up primarily of 12 - 18 month items, and he's outgrown his size 2/3 Crocs. We're currently shoeless because I can't find shoes that will comfortably fit his chubby feet...at least not cute ones.
Baylor is still waking up at night, but only for one bottle. We're offering him thicker rice cereal now to see if we can ween him off of that middle of the night snack. Also, we may have to ignore Dr. N's instructions to not offer baby food until he turns 6 months old. He gets very upset when he is not offered a sample of whatever we are eating. As a result, he is now snatching food off our plates. With Grandma's urging, I bought beginner sweet potatoes and applesauce. I guess I'll offer those the next time we have a major meltdown on our hands.
Now for the list of accomplishments.
- Baylor can easily roll over. He uses this ability to get around because he hasn't quite mastered crawling. Rolling, however, easily gets him from point A to point B.
- Speaking of crawling, Baylor is getting close. He scoots across the floor after toys, but it's not really crawling.
- He's been trying to sit up on his own. He can hold himself upright for a few seconds, but then topples over.
- The same is true for trying to stand by himself. Baylor can hold onto the furniture and support himself for a few seconds, but as soon as he realizes that he's standing on his own, he gets a scared look on his face and then he falls.
- Baylor has completely mastered strolling around the room though. You have to hold his hands, but he has the walking motion down. He is quite proud of this ability.
- He is still infatuated with Handy Manny, but 101 Dalmatians seems to be giving Handy Manny a run for his money.
- Baylor likes to dance now too. His dancing is more like bouncing, but he'll bust a move anytime he hears music. He's a dancing machine!
