That was Baylor's theme for the day. First, his day didn't even begin until 12:45pm. That's what time he finally woke up. Now, before you jump to the conclusion that it must have been a rough night, let me tell you that Baylor went to bed last night at 7:30pm. He slept for over 17 hours, only waking up briefly around 8am to suck down an 8oz bottle!
I actually started to get a bit paranoid, and checked in on him a few times between 10am and noon just to make sure that he was breathing. Each time, I was able to peek in the nursery and see that he had changed positions in the crib, a good sign that he was alive. Ultimately, Baylor woke up in a bit of a mood because his diaper leaked, not because he was ready to end the hibernation. After a quick change, Baylor was all smiles and ready to start the day.
I guess he was just exhausted. From what? I have absolutely no idea. He did skip 1 nap yesterday. Maybe he takes after his Aunt Kelly. She never misses a meal. Breakfast may be at noon, lunch at 5pm, and then dinner at midnight, but she eats all her meals. Baylor must take a similar approach when it comes to his sleep. He missed the nap, and therefore, had to make up for it overnight.
Oddly enough, the Aunt Kelly analogy was a good segway into the next excess. Somehow, all that sleeping allowed Baylor to work up quite an appetite. Between 1pm and 8pm, he consumed 4 bottles, 1 LARGE bowl of rice porridge, 3 full containers of baby food, and about half a jar of puff snacks. That kid can really put it away!
