The Road Less Traveled

Anh took the scenic route home on Monday thanks to a brush fire that is burning out of control along Interstate-95. Sadly, over 1000 acres have already gone up in smoke (excuse the horrible pun), and the combination of smoke and high winds has lead to low visibility along some of our major roadways. Both the Interstate and it's alternative U.S. Highway 1 were closed due to poor visibility. As a result, traffic was backed up for hours in both directions, and of course, Monday just happens to be the day that Anh commutes to his second office down South.

Thankfully, Anh did have a third option available, and coincidentally, it's the most scenic of the three! The road less traveled indeed, but A1A with it's jaw-dropping ocean views is such a lovely drive, you can't help asking yourself, "Why don't I take this route more often?" Well, the answer is plan and simple. The Interstate is faster. Clearly, we've learned absolutely nothing despite having watched the Disney movie Cars more than 200 times! So, I say to you, "People, SLOW DOWN!" Seriously, take the scenic route more often because life really is a journey not a race. We need to place more importance on the adventures along the way rather than who crosses the finish line first. Don't you agree?
